Home Inspectors in Oklahoma are required to be licensed.  Never hire one that isn’t. Mine is #649.  But let’s face it, anyone can take a class, study, and pass the test.  Don’t get me wrong, the test is long and detailed, but if you can study, you can pass it, and during this last recession, many did.  (Teachers, firemen, realtors, students, retirees, etc.)  That doesn't mean new inspectors can't inspect a home.  But can they find the problems and safety issues that matter to a home buyer.  I can, and do every day. I am a professional building inspector, who has been certified by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors with decades of experience and 100’s of hours of training.
